The Newroz Celebrations at Dewsbury Town Hall went very well. Over 400 people had come to join in the celebrations. As usual the chairman of the Kurdish Forum, Khalil Khalaf started by welcoming everyone and reading a bit of history on Newroz and how it affects people back in Kurdistan today. The words were then translated to English by the secretary Ciwan Kurd.
Then councillor Mehboob Khan shared a few words with the Kurdish Community to show his support, followed by his brother from Dewsbury. This was followed by Live Music from Awaz Music Group, and of course a lot of dancing.
